Rite of passage

Today was the first time I dropped my kids off for a playdate and I didn't stay with them.  It was kind of a strange feeling.  Of course before they went over to E's house, both Mommy and Daddy drilled into them that they need to listen to E's Mommy and Daddy "the first time", they needed to play nice together and help clean up, etc, etc.  I hadn't thought of it before hand, but J is still in diapers, so not that E's mom hasn't had to deal w/ diapers, it just made me feel like maybe I was asking too much.  Already I was dropping off 2 kids and while I will plan to reciprocate the playdate, E doesn't have any siblings so maybe I need to have 2 playdates to call it equal?

It was only about 3 hours and the boys reportedly were on their best behavior.  If only that best behavior lasted through the rest of the night for Mommy and Daddy......
